The Economics Committee strives to increase awareness and to improve understanding of various sports medicine economics and practice management issues that affect all sports medicine practice environments. Our global philosophy is to educate the membership, to bring about change at individual and organizational levels, and ultimately to broadly improve and stabilize the sports medicine practice environment.

Committee Description
The Economics Committee attempts to identify problem areas and impact issues that range from individual practice to national sports medicine professional levels. We actively educate the membership on an ongoing basis through annual economics workshops, listserv communication, individual member communication, and by developing high impact, sustainable resources such as the Sports Medicine Practice Tools webpage. Specifically, the committee uses the Practice Tools webpage as a resource to house important developments and access broad membership exposure. Primary areas of focus include sports medicine billing and coding, sports medicine practice management, sports medicine specialty credentialing, and various other individual practice areas that speak to a broad audience ranging from new physicians entering the field to well-established practicing physicians.
